Music therapy sessions with Your Song Music Therapy take place at Bridgeport Music Collective at 3201 S Morgan in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago

Our music therapist April currently provides free weekly community music and wellness groups at BMC supported by the Neighborhood Access Program grant through Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events including:

Community Wind Down Music and Relaxation Hour

Join us for an hour of music and relaxation facilitated by a licensed music therapist.  Come in your comfy clothes, or come as you are, to de-stress and participate in guided meditation and other relaxation focused music experiences with your community. No prior music experience needed.  Free event provided by grant funding through DCASE.

Community Music Jam

Join with your community for an energizing opportunity to share in creating music.  Whether you're a confident musician or have never played an instrument, this hour is for you.  BYO instrument, or use one of ours!  Facilitated by a licensed music therapist and provided by grant funding through DCASE.  7-8 PM, free event

Songwriter’s Circle

Song Writer's circle is an opportunity for those who identify as songwriters as well as those who have never tried songwriting but would like to learn more.  Our music therapist facilitates music and writing exercises designed to inspire you and give you songwriting tools, and the floor is opened up to participants interested in workshopping their song ideas with others.  Join us to start a new creative hobby, bring community and support to your songwriting practice, or to try something new.  Free event provided by grant funding through DCASE.

Located in the heart of Bridgeport at 3201 S Morgan Street in Chicago, IL, BMC is a space for music making. BMC was cofounded by music therapist April Hickey, Cellist and music teacher Kelly Quesada, and Violinist and music teacher Dan Galat in 2024.

Services include: Music Therapy Sessions, Violin Lessons, Cello Lessons, Piano Lessons, Voice Lessons, Early Childhood Music Classes, Community Events, Music Performances, and Chamber Music Education
